The heat exchanger has a total length of 7.5 m and is made of duplex and stainless steel on the low-pressure side.
The pre-chamber and the tubes are designed for high pressures of 345 bar and 250°C, whereby the test pressure is an exceptional 600 bar. Due to the high ratio of wall thickness to diameter (>1/10), the pre-chamber had to be manufactured from forged parts.

The testing effort for the high-pressure heat exchanger was considerable: in addition to the complex pressure test, the weld seams were tested using X-rays, ultrasound and surface crack testing.

Project summary
The production of this duplex high-pressure heat exchanger required a high level of technical expertise. Despite the small size of the heat exchanger, the project was particularly interesting for Kremsmueller due to the high test pressure and the combination of materials.
