Successful project completion at Aurubis in Hamburg
At Aurubis AG in Hamburg, an important project for the German heat transition was implemented. Kremsmüller is very proud to have played a part in this.
The industrial plant manufacturer accepted a major order from Aurubis AG in 2021. Due to the complexity and many special features, it was tailor-made for Kremsmüller. Among other things, the company combines the two trades required for this major project – apparatus and pipeline construction – under one roof. The overarching cooperation between the specialist departments saves the customer many interfaces.
Energy-efficient and climate-neutral
Kremsmüller successfully replaced two intermediate absorbers at Aurubis AG in Hamburg and thus the heart of the “Industrial Heat 2” project. The company was also entrusted with the piping of the two apparatuses, the acid piping and the integration into the overall plant through the process gas lines.
The conversion of the so-called contact plant will supply around 20,000 additional Hamburg households with thermal energy from the 2024/25 heating period. Sulphuric acid is produced in several process steps, producing CO2-free heat that is well suited for climate-neutral district heating supply.
