Kremsmüller Telekommunikation auf der Zugspitze

Kremsmueller telecommunications at Zugspitze

Kremsmüller works reliable and with familiar high quality on telecommunication systems and new radio links for A1 and ORS at the Zugspitze.

On the Austrian side of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze, Kremsmueller currently works on two projects. Reinforcing the structure for telecommunication antennas for A1 (A1 Telekom Austria AG) and installing a new radio link for the ORS (Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH & Co KG).

With wind speeds of up to 250 km/h, an enormous force acts on the new, larger radio mirrors as well as on the supporting structures on which they are mounted. In order to guarantee the statics, the structures must be reinforced accordingly.

The work requires 600 meters of weld seams, those have to be perfectly executed despite the low temperatures on the mountain and the numerous standards, which must be complied with. Of course, safety is a big issue in this high alpine area, this means work may only be carried out with adequate equipment and by fitters with appropriate climbing training.

The Kremsmüller employee’s technical expertise comes into play and is a key factor at this project. The Kremsmueller container is exactly at 2963 meters above sea level and therefore probably the highest Kremsmueller location right now.
