Kremsmüller takes over sponsorship for SOS Children’s Village family
This year, Kremsmüller is supporting a family from the SOS Children’s Village Altmünster with its annual Christmas donation campaign. The employees gave up their Christmas present. The annual donations are used to sponsor a child for three years.
Owner and Managing Director Gregor Kremsmüller was keen to meet the SOS Children’s Villages family in person and present the donation on site in Altmünster. Social commitment is deeply rooted in Kremsmüller’s corporate culture. “With our Christmas donation campaign this year, we are delighted to be able to provide sustainable and effective help to young people who are starting out in life under difficult conditions and have found a long-term home in the SOS Children’s Village,” says Gregor Kremsmüller.
The sponsoring family
The sponsorship was taken over for the Eissee house, where one of the six SOS Children’s Village families lives. The SOS Children’s Village mother is Agnes Pröll, who currently looks after a girl and three boys aged between 5 and 12. Two cats and two chickens also belong to the family. The house was to bear the name of a lake in the Salzkammergut region. As they all love ice cream and enjoy playing “Freeze”, “Eissee” was quickly chosen.
Agnes Pröll organizes everyday life with her SOS Children’s Village family: kindergarten, school, learning, support, therapies, household, leisure time, vacations and much more. The teacher is supported by three colleagues who share responsibility and care times with her. They also cover for the SOS Children’s Village mother on her days off and when she is on vacation.
New village building Altmünster
The SOS Children’s Village Altmünster has been undergoing renovation since 2022 to ensure a future-oriented and loving home for future generations of children. Everything should be ready in summer 2024. It is exciting for the children sponsored by Kremsmüller to watch the construction progress. Solid wood construction, green roofs, an environmentally friendly energy supply concept, natural meadows, mature trees and no cars in the village – this significantly reduces the ecological footprint. The idea of sustainability is also something that Kremsmüller and the Altmünster children’s village have in common.
