Work and hope: Kremsmüller For Life supports people with cancer
With the “Kremsmüller For Life” initiative, the company emphasizes the importance of social commitment. Under the motto “Work for All,” sustainable projects were specifically sought in 2025—the choice fell on the “Cancer and Work” project of the Austrian Cancer Aid Upper Austria.
A cancer diagnosis changes everything—including your professional life. The “Cancer and Career” project offers targeted support during a challenging time to people who are in the middle of their working lives and affected by the disease.
100 hours of counseling – 100 hours of direct assistance
Kremsmüller is supporting the project as part of its social program by financing 100 hours of counseling and an information campaign for patients and companies. “We are delighted that our support is helping to ensure that working people are not left alone during difficult times in their lives,” says Managing Director Gregor Kremsmüller. “Knowledge and continuity are what set our team apart. When someone is absent due to illness, valuable knowledge is lost. Until they return, we stand together and do everything we can to provide the best possible support.”
The counseling sessions offer individual help on labor law, psychological, dietary, and other topics. And they have an impact beyond the individuals themselves: the exchange with family, colleagues, and fellow patients creates a valuable multiplier effect.
Comprehensive support for those affected
“Cancer support helps people cope with the many challenges they face—from sick leave and returning to work to protection against dismissal,” explains Maria Sauer, managing director of Cancer Support Upper Austria. Key components include psycho-oncology, dietetics, and exercise, which support medical treatment and help patients regain their strength for everyday life and work more quickly. Cancer support also provides advice on bureaucratic hurdles and provides comprehensive information material.
Awareness in the workplace
The project is aimed not only at those affected, but also at companies: coaching and lectures are used to raise awareness among managers and teams in order to create an understanding and supportive working environment. In addition, companies can book preventive care and early detection lectures—an important contribution to health prevention.
A strong sign of humanity
With its support for Cancer Aid, Kremsmüller shows how important it is to help where help is urgently needed. The consultations are free of charge for those seeking help.
“Since Cancer Aid is financed almost exclusively by donations, the support provided by Kremsmüller is a valuable help,” says Maria Sauer gratefully.
