20 years of the welding academy
Numerous welders have been trained and have perfected their skills.
The Welding Academy, opened on May 1, 2004 as the “Karl Kremsmüller Welding Academy” and named after our company founder Karl Kremsmüller, has been offering practical and highly qualified training in various welding techniques for 20 years, including gas welding, manual electrode welding, gas metal arc welding (MAG/MIG), tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) and many more.
Over the past 20 years, we have trained numerous welders and helped them to perfect their skills. Our practice-oriented training and continuous adaptation to the latest technologies and market requirements make the Kremsmueller Welding Academy a leading training center. We are also active in research and regularly carry out trial welds to test new techniques and materials. This research contributes to the innovation and improvement of welding processes. This makes us an essential source of expertise in welding technology as well as training.
Successes and innovations
Over 30 apprentices have completed their training with us, many of whom have gone on to become International Welding Specialists. Over the years, we have introduced numerous innovations and improvements, such as orbital welding and titanium welding. A significant event was the conversion of our welding academy, which began in June 2021 and included extensive modernization to further improve training conditions.
Since 2022, we have intensified our cooperation with TÜV Austria. We are a renowned training partner for the TÜV AUSTRIA Academy, especially in the field of welding technology. Together, we offer comprehensive training courses and certifications that cover both theoretical and practical aspects.
Future plans for the welding academy
The construction of our new welding academy in Schwechat is planned for 2025. In total, our Steinhaus and Schwechat sites train around 400 welders per year, with around 13,000 hours of training.
The Kremsmüller Welding Academy is not only a place of learning, but also a place of community. Here we not only teach technical skills, but also values such as precision, commitment and teamwork. Many graduates of our academy have gone on to successful careers in welding technology and contribute to the further development of the industry. Their successes are proof of the high quality of our training, which has been available at Kremsmueller for 20 years.

"The founding of the Karl Kremsmüller Welding Academy was an important milestone for our company. All my professional experience went into the planning, implementation and construction. As training manager, I passed on all my knowledge. My advantage was that I knew what my colleagues on the construction site needed to be able to do. Today, solid basic training is more important than ever - craftsmanship is golden."
