High-pressure pipes
The high-pressure pipes are packed closely together.

Up to 1600 bar

High pressure prevails when a plastics production facility is modernised!

A total of 2220m high-pressure pipes and 1500m cooling water pipes were replaced in the factory of a large European manufacturer of plastics. Especially in the high-pressure domain, a trouble-free and high-quality execution of the work was the topmost priority. After all, the pipes have to withstand 325 to 1600 bar during operation. Even the smallest errors can have fatal results at these pressures.

An 80-person team from Kremsmueller Industrieanlagenbau worked in full swing for two months. Alone the dismantling of a single pipe joint took up to 7 hours. The threaded joints with extremely high torques demanded bull-like strength and stamina from the installation team – The reason was that hydraulic aids could only be used to a very limited extent.

The assembly in very constricted spaces was also a special challenge. Perfect planning was required here, so that a problem-free progression could be ensured  for the various assembly areas. During all this, safety was always the central theme – Thanks to a perfect pre-analysis, the project was completed punctually and free of accidents. And this was done even though 47 other projects were in progress in the factory.
