Broad-based Industrial Knowledge for Apprentices

Process control engineering apprentices visited Germany, France and Switzerland to acquire practical knowledge of measurement techniques

We do not shy away from cost or effort when it comes to giving our apprentices a thorough theoretical as well as practically oriented training. Through apprenticeship alliances with renowned companies, we ensure comprehensive knowledge transfer. Continuing education is not neglected either: a short while ago, our apprentices participated in a seminar that gave them broad-based industrial knowledge.

Six process control technicians from the second and third trainee years attended a basic seminar on processes of measurement engineering at different locations of Endress+Hauser. In addition to our apprentices, about 30 apprentices from companies like voestalpine and Sappi participated as well. Topics like flow, temperature, level and pressure as well as radiometry were elucidated over four days. This was followed by practical exercises and rounds of the production lines. The various measurement techniques could be viewed at three locations in three countries – at Maulburg in Germanyy, Cernay in France and Rainach in Switzerland.

The I&C Division has grown continuously in recent years and has a big presence at the Steinhaus and Schwechat locations. At present, more than a fourth of the total turnover is generated through I&C projects. That’s reason enough for us to train apprentices in this field.
