The plant construction adventure

Job Tour intended to create an interest in apprenticeships and handcraft

At the initiative of the WKO (Austrian Chamber of Commerce) Wels and the city of Wels, companies in the region threw open their gates for the Job Tour 2014. On two days, students of the New Secondary Schools visited the Kremsmueller head office in Steinhaus near Wels. The Kremsmueller apprentices demonstrated their skills during this visit.

To start with, a round through the company head office provided interesting insights into the adventure of plant construction. From switch cabinet building and the company’s own welding academy to tank and apparatus manufacturing, apprentices from the different fields gave the students interesting insights into their professional workday. The young folk were also given the opportunity to try out their handcrafting skills right away.

The clear objective of this event was to give the students an up-close look at the large multiplicity of training and career opportunities that opens up with an apprenticeship. From classical metalworking and welding technology, and electrical engineering to technical draftsmanship – especially in plant construction, the palette of professional opportunities is truly broad.
