Max Straube Celebrates 70th Anniversary
On the occasion of its anniversary, we would like to give you an insight into the history of our Chemnitz subsidiary, which is steeped in tradition.
On 1 November 1946, the foundation stone of today’s Kremsmüller subsidiary Max Straube Industrierohrleitungsbau GmbH was laid. At that time, the founding fathers Otto Fiedler and Max Straube took over an engineering company in Chemnitz, Saxony. From the very beginning, the company has been active in central heating and pipeline construction. The 100-employee mark was quickly surpassed. In 1953 Max Straube became the sole owner. The GDR era did not pass without leaving its mark. Nationalisation followed, but the company was still able to survive. Shortly before reunification in 1990, Max Straube had the company reprivatised. At the age of 73, he once again became an independent entrepreneur before handing over management to his son Peter Straube in November.
It was not long before the plant engineering group Imtech acquired a stake in the Chemnitz-based company and almost dragged it into ruin in 2015. Kremsmüller rescued the insolvent company and since 1 October 2015 it has been part of the group, fitting in perfectly as a traditional company ? after all, they share the same goals and values. This is because reliability, handshake quality, trustworthy cooperation and, above all, the very highest quality standards are also the prime priorities at Max Straube. In addition to the branch in Leipzig, Max Straube is an important mainstay for the German market ? a spearhead for larger projects, which are then implemented together with the specialist departments from Austria.
“We owe it to Kremsmüller that we were able to experience the 70 years. After one year in this group we are even more grateful. Tradition obviously unites. We feel well integrated and in good hands,” remarks André Höring, Managing Director of Max Straube.
