In the course of modernizing a power plant in Salzburg (Austria), these conduits were removed and replaced. The work was performed in high alpine regions while ensuring maximum protection of the natural setting. This project called for the most sophisticated machinery, as well as a good deal of expertise.<\/div>         <div>&nbsp;<\/div>         <div>Water can be passed through the two replaced conduits up to a rate of 10.5 m&sup3; per second, under a pressure of 50 bar. The forces acting on this type of conduit are demonstrated by what are known as thrust rings. When in operation, these components conduct forces of up to 110 tons into the base of the conduit.<\/div>         <div>&nbsp;<\/div>         <div>The customer therefore placed a premium on the quality of the new conduits. The obligatory pressure testing for this project was conducted by the <span>Testing and Inspection Establishment of the Vienna University of Technology.
